    I disagree with this choice – there’s no way he meant that!

      You’re right, he didn’t mean it. He admitted as much after the game. I just thought that it was such an extraordinary strike that it merited recognition. It’s not like it was a flukey, mishit cross either. He was clearly aiming to flash the ball towards goal at pace and, if anything, he simply struck the ball a little too purely.
