Tevez for me, on the rather simplistic grounds that I’ve never seen a ball kicked harder. Was there a speed gun reading for it? Germany perhaps deserve a top 10 contender from their consistently brilliant counter-attacking. Maybe Podolski v England or Klose’s second v Argentina? Oezil v Ghana a cracker but not scored on the break.
I hesitated between Ozil and Forlan. Shame not to have a Germany goal in there, I agree. I would probably have gone for Klose’s second against Argentina, but there was also something grimly symbolic about the way Ozil eviscerated Barry on the way to setting up Muller’s second against England.
I like ‘grimly symbolic’ and I think as a setup it would be among the top ten.
My goal of the tournament, though, would be Klose’s opener against England, for sentimental reasons for one, but as well because it was the epitomy of a swift counter attack and even more so of determination and perseverance.
Well done to think of smoetihng like that
Best Goal: Ji-YUN-NAM V Brazil Lovely searching long ball, great lay-off, great touch, great finish – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMjiJCt1uNQ
